Part III: Key Takeaways and Additional Resources

Key Takeaways

Menopause can bring many challenges, but poor sleep doesn’t have to be one of them. Talk to your doctor or sleep specialist about what treatment options work best. While there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to good sleep, as we’ve covered, certain lifestyle modifications are key!

To recap, some of the changes you might consider making right away on the path to good sleep include:

  • winding down with a relaxing bedtime routine;
  • going to bed and waking up at the same time every day;
  • avoiding screens at least one hour before sleep;
  • cutting caffeine off after lunch; and
  • avoiding alcohol and heavy meals close to bedtime.

You may also be helped by prescription medications or therapies and you should discuss these with your care team.

By understanding the changes your body is going through and making some adjustments to your lifestyle, you can improve your sleep quality.
